#FF Balenciaga Copying Ruff Ryder Logo?!

Yes you read that correctly. Balenciaga, which is a great brand with great ideas, however is now under fire for straight up copying Ruff Ryder’s logo; and the person who called them out on it?

Fun Fact: Swizz Beatz was actually the producer behind the famous “Ruff Ryder’s Anthem.” Also, his uncle is the one who founded the group back in the late-80s.

You can see from the Balenciaga’s Spring 2018 Collection which debuted in Men’s Fashion Week just a couple of days ago in Paris

Unfortunately, this isn’t the first time that designers have taken from the hip hop culture. Just last month Gucci was accused of designing a jacket that looked too similar to that of Dapper Dan’s. Even though it does get quite tricky with this case because Dapper Dan was copying off of Gucci as well all the way back in 1989! Love to see how designers are ahead of their time!

So the rumors were true! They debuted on the runway during its fall 2017 men’s runway show just yesterday!

For those that have always followed Supreme,  it has become the IT streetwear and now to see that they are making it big with this collabo, its a great thing to watch! Kim Jones, creative director at Louis Vuitton, called Supreme “a massive global phenomenon” and rightfully so.

Below are a few teases, and yes I say teases because come on, who would not want these accessories?! Yes this LV X Supreme collabo seems to cater more to accessories than apparel for now anyway (you never know what else may come out 😉 ) Quote me if you want to but you will see these all over the internet and selling platforms because people are going to be losing their minds over them!

So the answer to the question that I know you are all asking, when are they releasing them?! Bad and good? We have to wait til this summer!  It is said to be dropping on Monday, July 17th so make sure to mark your calendars!

#FF Zayn X Giuseppe Zanotti

Zayn Malik, as many of you may know for his music, has also been venturing out in fashion. Zayn is debuting his shoe line with Giuseppe Zanotti! It only makes sense that these two work together because they are both into the edgy side of fashion. As said so by himself,

“I like to work with musicians because we share a very similar vision,” said Zanotti. “[Zayn and I] have always had an appreciation for one another, but it was during our first encounter in Paris that we realized we had a similar attitude and approach: iconic, edgy, and expressive. Zayn’s bold and individualistic vision, easy coolness, and love for fashion mean a lot to me.”

Zayn has also said himself,

“I like things which are a bit dark and weird, and Mr. Zanotti isn’t afraid to play with those elements either. The process of designing my collection has been really fun as a result!”

Every one in fashion can see that Zayn Malik is rising in the fashion world with this Giuseppe Zanotti collaboration and also with his upcoming Versus Versace collabo as well. Let’s hope that he succeeds in this industry, best of luck!

Slaying the State Dinner

Michelle Obama has been the first First Lady’s style that I have watched closely. Not sure if it is her personal style or if she relies on a stylist but I have loved a lot of her outfits. I definitely loved her gown at their final state dinner at Washington DC, yes their final state dinner while at office :(

Mobama (Michelle Obama’s nickname) chose to wear a custom made rose gold Atelier Versace gown, definitely red carpet ready. I love this gown for two reasons; one reason being that I am currently into rose gold everything right now: phone cases, jewelry, and even hair (insert previous post) and second, I am liking the style and the way it fits Mobama’s body shape. Ruched at her waist in an elegant yet chic way is just her style. We should not forget about the President himself, looking dapper in his tux.

Donnatella Versace herself was proud to have made it for her: “I am humbled and honored to have the opportunity to dress the first lady of the United States Michelle Obama. Thank you, Michelle, for all of the things you have done for America and for the rest of the world, for the women in the United States and the rest of the world.”

Michelle Obama has been known to wear from designers such as Marchesa, Carolina Herrera, Jason Wu, Alexander McQueen, and Brandon Maxwell.

#MM First CoverGirl Guy?

Yes, CoverGirl has announced their new ambassador and he is a guy! A teen to be exact, James Charles, a well known beauty vlogger, is just 17 years old.

The two latest CoverGirl ambassadors (:

CoverGirl: “All of our CoverGirls are role models and boundary-breakers, fearlessly expressing themselves, standing up for what they believe and redefining what it means to be beautiful. James Charles is no exception. One year ago, he boldly chose to launch his Instagram to the world, using transformative, dynamic makeup looks to showcase the many facets of his personality, serving as an inspiration to anyone who might have been afraid to do the same.”

If you have an Instagram account I am sure you have bumped into their makeup tutorials at the very least once. With thousands of followers you can see from the likes and views alone how popular these makeup artists actually are and how much of an impact they are making! Big names that you should also follow are, Manny MUA and Patrick Starr, of which I personally follow. I am happy to see that there are more I have to look into because not only are they doing it big with have their personal social media accounts but they are also branching into brand ambassadorships. Manny Gutierrez (mentioned before as Manny MUA) has collaborated with Ofra Cosmetics and Makeup Geek, Patrick Simondac (aka Patrick Starr) has worked with NYX Cosmetics and Formula X, and Frank B with Milk Makeup. You can find them below with their Instagram names so follow them today, def worth it!

Another great collaboration just like with Alexander Wang in 2014 and Balmain last year, this is expected to be another great collabo!

Said to launch November 3rd worldwide!

Knowing Kinko’s style, their collection is expected to be full of colors & patterns & here are a few sneak peeks

And for men:

Black Lives DO Matter!

Every Thursday I try to dedicate it to a memorable throwback in Fashion. This time I think I am writing about a moment that would be remembered from this day on in Fashion history!

Outside the building while the Fashion shows were going on, a group of people quietly stood in two rows with their hands slightly raised. They stood there for up to six hours! This demonstration was to protest police murders of Philando Castile, Alton Sterling, and the five officers who died in Dallas – all of this that happened just last week! Protestors were disappointed about how the Fashion industry did not show acknowledgment to all the deaths last week. All the while, it was said that for the Paris terrorist attack and for the Orlando nightclub shooting there were dedications and such all over Fashion social medias. Hannah Stoudemire, who actually works at Lanvin’s men’s store here on Madison Avenue. She loves Fashion but to “realize that it didn’t love me back hurt me. That’s why I’m here today, to bring it to their front door, so they can acknowledge us.” I also liked the shirt she wore:

In the end, CFDA, the Council of Fashion Designers of America, posted about protest on their Instagram!
